Valenzuela Medical Center, initially known as Valenzuela Emergency Hospital, was licensed as a 100 bed Tertiary-Teaching and Training hospital. In 2005 Valenzuela General Hospital was licensed as tertiary level 4 hospital by the Department of Health and accredited by Philhealth as tertiary – 100 beds hospital.
In 2007 Under Republic Act No. 9421 Valenzuela General Hospital was upgraded to 200 bed Tertiary – Teaching and Training hospital and it was renamed as Valenzuela Medical Center and in 2011 under DOH Administrative Order No. 2011-0007 the Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 9421 was approved.
